Marie could pinch off pieces of clay, in just the right amount, for what ever part she needed. I would watch her in awe, as every arm, leg, head and body piece was exactly the same. This is something I couldn't do.(and still am unable to do). I would roll the clay in coils after I mixed it. I had a marble table with 1/2" increments marked on the side of it. I would change the size of the coil if I needed a different sized ball. I was a happy camper now. But even then, Marie would still have to adjust the size of the balls I had made |
